    • About the Course

      This self-study course offers you an introduction to scientific publishing and open access. It is aimed in particular at (doctoral) students, but also at anyone else who wants to get to grips with the topic as a beginner. The course is based on a module developed as part of a course for computer science students at Leibniz Universität Hannover and consists mainly of video lectures. The spoken language of the lecturers is German, English subtitles and an english version of the presentation slides are available.

      The videos amount to ca. 1,4 h in length, which can exceed up to 9 h, if you do the excercises and engage with the further materials.

      • The course consists of 7 videos of 10 to 20 minutes in length.

      • If you would like to delve deeper into the topic, you will find links to further materials under each video.
      • After each video, the knowledge acquired can be tested with small exercises.

      • We are working on the possibility to certify your participation in the course. 

      • In 2025/2026 The self study course has been embedded within a broader format with synchronous elements and was offered forEULiST partner universities.
