Through signing the "Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities", many universities and research institutions are committed to promoting the open access paradigm. Among other things, they want to encourage their researchers to publish Open Access. They would also like to develop standards for the evaluation of open access publications, advocating for their recognition in the assessment of scientific achievements.

Defining Open Access

Open Access refers to the practice of providing unrestricted access to academic research and data, allowing anyone to read, download, copy, print, distribute, and share the content without financial, legal, or technical barriers. You can take a closer look at our definition of open access here.
