Climate and landscape variables of study plots in landklif project

Abstract: LandKlif project aims at studying the effects of climate change on biodiversity and ecosystem services in different landscape types. We used the Bavaria quadrants as a representative regions that cover the temperature, precipitation and elevation gradients in Bavaria. We have classified the climate and landscape gradient of Bavaria into 5 climatic zones, 3 landscape types. In each of these climate-landscape zones, 4 replicates have been selected based on distance to our partner institutions and least spatial autocorrelation, resulting in a total of 60 quadrants. Within each quadrant, three dominant habitat types are investigated, resulting in a total of 179 plots (study sites). The climate and landscape variables of these 179 plots are calculated in this dataset. The coordinate system of the shapefiles is ETRS89 / UTM zone 32N (EPSG:25832).
