Rheology_Data_of_Lubrizol-Carbopol-ETD2020.7z
All measurements taken with Modular Compact Series of Anton Paar AG rheometer at Institut für Transport- und Automatisierungstechnik (ITA) of the Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH).
All measurements taken by Lennart Mesecke @IPeG under supervision of Tobias Biermann @IPeG.
All measurements taken at roomtemperature R_T=20°C.
The material was analyzed regarding viscosity und shear stress under given shear rates.
Naming reference:
ETD2020-01wt-30ul
ETD2020 = Lubrizol Carbopol ETD2020
01wt = 0,1 wt./% of Carbopol ETD2020; concentrations from 0,1-0,9 wt./% were analyzed
30ul = 30 µl of Triethanolamine per 100ml distilled water; concentrations of 30-50µl were analyzed
Mixing of Carbopol ETD2020:
To produce the material, distilled water is mixed with Carbomber ETD2020, which is available in powder form. By adjusting the pH value with triethanolamine, polymerization occurs, resulting in the gel-like material. Triethanolamine is a non-toxic, colourless, viscous liquid that is very soluble in water. Triethanolamine does not interfere with polymerization and reacts strongly alkaline in aqueous solution, which leads to an increase in the pH value of the dispersion. Sufficient mixing and degassing is necessary to obtain a homogeneous material.
