Alkenone sea surface temperatures, ice rafted debris, terrestrial/aquatic n-alkane ratio, pollen counts and a new age and depth models from IODP Expedition 341 Site U1417, Gulf of Alaska
We present a new multiproxy data set obtained from IODP core site U1417 (56.9598N, -147.109W, water depth -4187.5m) in the Gulf of Alaska. The sediments were collected during IODP Expedition 341 (Jaeger et al., 2014) and were analysed to reconstruct sea surface conditions by means of alkenone and IRD data covering the time interval from 4 to 1.5 Ma years ago. Terrestrial organic matter input to Site U1417 is assessed through the abundance of long-chain n-alkanes (TAR) and palynological analysis. We include a new age and depth model for Site U1417.
