Sediment echosounder processed data (Atlas Parasound P70 echosounder working area dataset) of RV METEOR during cruise M78/1 & M94, eastern Campeche Bank, Gulf of Mexico

The Parasound data have been collected at the eastern Campeche Bank (southern Gulf of Mexico) during RV METEOR expedition M78/1 (February 22 - March 28, 2009; Hübscher and Pulm, 2009) and M94 (March 12 – March 26, 2013; Hübscher et al., 2014). The Parasound data are stored in SEG-Y format. The Parasound system is a hull mounted parametric subbottom profiler. The parametric signal has a center frequency of 4 kHz.To boost the weaker reflection amplitudes below the seafloor reflection, amplitudes above a threshold were clipped. No further data processing was applied. The main scientific objective was to investigate the nature of a previously discovered unconformity, which implied a quite drastic change in oceanic current pattern (Hübscher et al., 2010).
