Raw physical oceanography and ocean current velocity data from mooring AWI251-3 in the Weddell Sea, February 2019 – April 2022
Time-series data of physical oceanography and ocean current velocity were obtained from mooring AWI251-3 in the northern Weddell Sea at the tip of the Antarctic Peninsula between February 2019 and April 2022 as part of the Hybrid Antarctic Float Observing System (HAFOS). The mooring was deployed during RV POLARSTERN expedition PS117, and recovered during PS129. The attached archive contains raw data files of one Seabird SBE37 MicroCAT (nominal depth: 322m; sampling interval 2h) and one Teledyne RDI 75kHz Long Ranger ADCP (nominal depth: 322m; sampling interval 10min). The mooring also included an ASL Acoustic Zooplankton Fish Profiler (nominal depth: 288m, raw data not publicly available), an MTE Aural M2 underwater recorder (nominal depth: 179m, raw data not publicly available) and a Develogic Sonovault (nominal depth: 181m; raw data not publicly available) for passive acoustic monitoring. Auxiliary information such as sensor calibration sheets, mooring diagrams, and schedule files are also provided, if applicable. All instruments exhibited extensive bio-fouling.
