VoiLA-P19: A 3-D P-wave velocity model of the upper mantle beneath the Caribbean derived from teleseismic travel time tomography


The files layer_XX.xyz (with XX indicating the number of the layer from 01-08) contain P-wave velocity anomalies (3rd column) in % with reference to the AK135 model at given longitudes (1st column) ranging from -73.5° to -57.0° and latitudes (2nd column) ranging from 6.5° to 23.0° with increments of 0.05° in both longitude and latitude. The files layer_XX.grd contain the same model as .grd-files.

The 8 layers of the model correspond to the following depth ranges:

0- 40 km : layer01 40-100 km : layer02 100-160 km : layer03 160-240 km : layer04 230-320 km : layer05 320-410 km : layer06 410-530 km : layer07 530-660 km : layer08

A GMT script 'plot_layers.gmt' is provided to plot horizontal slices of the velocity anomalies.
