Experimental data: Mode selective damping behavior of additively manufactured beam structures

Description

The dataset contains the CAD data of additively manufactured beam structures as well as the data from the experimental characterization of the damping behavior of the beams.

The 12 different beam structures have identical external dimensions (150 x 20 x 3 mm³), but some have powder-filled cavities with different dimensions and positioning. To characterize the damping, the dynamic behaviour of the beams after impulse excitation was recorded using a laser vibrometer. The procedure for determining the damping is described in detail in the corresponding publication.
