Chlorinated hydrocarbons in zooplankton of the North Atlantic

Data on distribution of chlorinated hydrocarbons in ecosystem components of the North Atlantic, i.e. water, hydrobionts, and bottom sediments, for the period 1980-1984 are presented. Distribution char¬acteristics are considered as a function of various factors (physiographic conditions of the area, species composition of zooplankton, mineral composition of bottom sediments) for each of ecosystem components. Dis¬tribution of concentration factors of chlorinated hydrocarbons in individual hydrobionts and bottom sediments are determined. Maximal distribution coefficients are those of integral plankton samples (up to 5 orders of concentration magni¬tude).
