Influence of salt on the molecular composition of dissolved organic matter from peat soils

Dissolved organic matter (DOM) from peat samples of different origin, degradation and peat forming environment (file 'samples.txt') were extracted with fresh- and salt water. Besides the basic parameters pH and C- and N- content (file 'C_N_pH.txt), pyrolysis field ionization mass spectrometry (Py-FIMS) was used to examine differences between fresh- and saltwater extracts. Mass- and temperature information was used to assign the Py-FIMS signals to compound classes. Intensity and relative abundance of the compound classes are displayed in the files 'compound classes_counts_per_mg.txt' and 'compound classes_percentTII.txt', respectively. The files 'xxx_thermograms.txt' contain the thermograms of the single compound classes.
