Oxygen isotopic composition and Mg/Ca ratio of benthic and planktonic foraminifera from western Atlantic over the last 300ka

The dataset presents oxygen isotopic composition of benthic foraminifera Cibicides sp., planktonic foraminifera Globigerinoides ruber (white), and Globorotalia truncatulinoides (dextral), and Mg/Ca of G. truncatulinoides (dextral) over the last 300 ka in the western tropical Atlantic. The samples came from sediment core GL-1180 (8°S). Additionally, oxygen isotopic data of Globorotalia inflata from sediment core GL-1090 (southwestern Atlantic, 24°S) covering MIS 6 is also reported. This dataset was used to reconstruct the upper ocean stratification of the western tropical and subtropical South Atlantic over the late Pleistocene.
