Hydrographic control on carbon isotope fractionation in coccolithophores in the North Atlantic during the Mid-Pleistocene

This dataset includes new records of carbon isotope fractionation during photosynthesis (Ɛp) analysed in sediment samples from five IODP/ODP cores (982, 984, U1314, U1313 and U1385) located in the the North Atlantic (66°-37°N), between marine isotope stage (MIS) 20 and 11 (~800 to 400 ka). In addition we generated new benthic and planktic stable isotopes, alkenone-SST, coccolithophore size and planktonic foraminiera faunal census counts records for the same samples. Using this dataset, we therefore aim to 1) assess the sensitivity of Ɛp in high and mid-latitude environments and 2) document the relationship between changes in Ɛp and hydrographic conditions (SST, nutrients, CO2[aq]) in the North Atlantic.
