Seismic node data from EastGRIP 2022

Passive seismic noise data from 23 three component smart solo stations recorded during 2022 from July 21 until August 21 In the vicinity of the EastGRIP drill site, 500 km from the calving front of the ice stream, (N 75.63248, W -35.98911 in 2022). Data were recorded at 1000 Hz sampling rate with inter station distance ranging from 50 to 2900 m as part of the EastGRIP project (http://eastgrip.org/). Nodes were deployed along (Line 1, 114◦ from North), across (Line 5, 204◦ from North) and between (136.5◦ Line 2, 159◦ Line 3 and 181.5 Line 4◦ from North), at varying distances from 100 m to 4200 m away from the drill site. Station ID represent the line in which the station was deployed. Raw data are uploaded in the Miniseed file format. Seismometers were buried directly under the surface of the snow, and marked by bamboo poles. They were then left alone for a maximum of 30 days, recording for 24 hours a day recording ambient and anthropogenic noise. The data contain signals from glacial events, (e.g. basal sliding, ice quakes), anthropogenic noise (e.g. camp movement, ice core drilling), active seismic experiments from explosive sources and finally ambient noise (e.g. wind). The data can be downloaded and processed using the obspy (obspy.org) python toolbox.
