Longterm shear wave splitting measurements in the upper rhine graben area

Abstract: This dataset contains shear wave splitting measurements (SWSMs) on SKS, SKKS, and PKS phases at the (semi-) permanent broadband seismological recording stations Black Forest Observatory (BFO), Welschbruch (WLS), Stuttgart (STU), Échery (ECH), Karlsruhe-Durlach (TMO44), and KIT-GPI (TMO07). Splitting parameters (fast polarization direction and delay time) were obtained with the MATLAB package SplitLab (Wüstefeld et al. 2008) simultaneously applying the rotation-correlation method (Bowman & Ando 1987) and the energy minimization method (Silver & Chan 1991). Additionally, the splitting intensity (Chervot 2000) is reported. Only single-event analysis SWSMs of good and fair qualities are reported. Information of the used earthquakes are included. CSV as well as PDF files are provided. Details can be found in the README. The dataset is related to the publication Fröhlich et al. (2024), GJI, https://doi.org/10.1093/gji/ggae245.
